From penning promos in the 1990s to creating preschool shows watched all over the world, I haven’t stopped writing since I first picked up pencil.

I grew up in a working-class family in rural Somerset during the 1980’s. After suffering a head injury at the age of five, I developed seizures and was later diagnosed with epilepsy and autism. At this time, I found myself retreating from others and found comfort in fiction, both books and on-screen.

This led to me becoming an avid reader, and subsequently writer. Aged 18, I moved to London to study literature before embarking on a successful career in TV. Initially working as a copywriter, then Creative Director, I created ads, promos and programmes and won several individual and group awards including a BAFTA.

After twenty years focused on TV work, I returned to writing fiction in 2014, and completed two novels in draft form as part of NaNoWriMo 2017 and 2019. During the pandemic, I decided to go a step further and study for a masters, and graduated with an MFA Creative Writing from Birkbeck College, University of London in 2022.

My dissertation has grown into my latest novel, “Dimeland,” which explores what it means to be human in a post-human world, living with trauma and owning story. Although set in the near and far future, the novel considers the challenges our species and the planet face today.

I am actively seeking representation for “Dimeland,” as well as his other writing projects, which include two novels currently in draft.

For the day job, I’m co-owner of the creative agency, Content Creatures, for which I frequently write blogs on neuroscience and the psychology of storytelling
